Business for Breakfast

One of the most intriguing developments in business over the last two or three years is the success of the 'business breakfast'. Actually, it is not a new or radical concept because the idea has already been around for a couple of decades. But business breakfasts are now starting to change and develop into something more interesting - the "breakfast business club".
So what is a breakfast business club? Put simply, the club brings together local business people to meet each other over a shared breakfast.

The breakfast aims to give people an opportunity to briefly introduce themselves, swap business cards, get to know each other and find out what their respective businesses offer. The clubs usually meet once a month between 7.30am and 9.30am. This means members can meet and exchange ideas without losing very much time during the rest of their busy working day. Members also aim to bring a guest along so that everyone gets to meet new people and hear fresh ideas. Usually, a member volunteers to chair the meeting, book the venue and organise the breakfast.

One of the key attractions of the business breakfast club is that it is local. The club members live in the area, town or village where their businesses are based. This encourages members to use each others' businesses so that the entire local community benefits. For these reasons, plumbers, electricians, hairdressers, accountants, lawyers and other small to medium firms find the business breakfast club a really useful event.
